Election Issues

Or rather, one issue - Stem Cells.

I don't know how many people reading this are still in the dark about the truth of this issue...but if you're aware of how it is being misrepresented, then please, tell your friends. Especially if you live in a state with a Stem Cell issue on the ballot. If you are pro-life, then you should be against stem cell research of form that is advocated by the likes of Michael J. Fox. That group is for all types of stem cell research, most importantly the type that involves the killing of embryos - the ending of life. The misrepresentation here is their failure to mention that there is stem cell research that exists which does NOT involve the destruction of embryos. Research using Adult Stem cells is just as likely to produce life saving results as embryonic stem cell research, perhaps even more so. No evidence has been produced that says that embryonic stem cell research is the better way to go. Instead, folks like Michael J. Fox make it seems like the pro-life crowd, those of us also against embryonic stem cell research are against all types of research, which we are not. Neither are we against research that may lead to cures for Parkinsons or paralysis or the life. Rather we are for research that does not require the killing of embryos.

Here is the second misrepresentation: A government ban on embryonic stem cell research is not a ban on ALL research, embryonic or otherwise. The Private research sector is alive and well. Send them all the money you want. Why does the government have to fund the ending of life? It doesn't and shouldn't.
