The search for better...

From Michael Ledeen:

This is the hallmark of the civilized man, constantly questioning the reasons for his behavior, wondering if there is a better way, searching for that better way, putting himself in the position of “the other,” trying to understand it all.

Ah... indeed! Indeed!
And it is a part of being a Christian as well, right?
Trying to understand and to do better, to grow, to improve, to strive....

Honoring Life...

During college, the priest of the Catholic Student Center used to pray that people would support the honoring of life in all forms...in all ways. I recently came across this two statemens. The first hits home for me as we think about celebrating the birth of a baby who was, at first, in some ways, by some people, surely unwanted and unexpected. And the second as we pray for all the brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and others in the service of our country who will be away from their families this Christmas.

First, no one can honestly believe that killing a baby in the womb is a matter of privacy. Either you are totally devoid of any knowledge of biology and the U.S. Constitution, or you are dishonest in your application of whatever knowledge you have.

Second, while one can honestly disagree with how we deal with terrorism — ignore it, lawyer it, excuse it, combat it, isolate it or condone it, one cannot intellectually justify turning that disagreement into an impeachable offense.

Pandas: Still Unhuggable

Thanks to the Ranger for pointing out that, once again, humans should not attempt to hug pandas. In a zoo. In a cage. There is a reason that they don't let the pandas roam free like they do with say, the golden lion tamarin.

Oh. And make sure you read to the end of the article, which says that this was the same panda from the original dangerous panda hugging incident of 2006.

Did I say something about blossoms...?

I totally meant Abundant Health.
My bad.

Go look at it. She's really smart about all the health stuff. The biggest thing I learned lately...the effect of natural Metabolism is overrated.

And, she really is a good friend because she referred me here, based on the fun pug content.

PS: If by some strange coincidence miracle, you are from Slippery Rock, she would appreciate it if you said "Hi"

:)

Panda results continue

So...you know that the biggest entry into my blog is?
People searching google for dangerous pandas!
Seriously!
This post from back in 2006 generates most of the traffic...
but when I last asked this question back in 2007... people actually responded. check out the comments.
I JUST noticed them today...even though one of them is over a year old. Halo Scan must have been snubbing me.
Anyway...who knew that so many people would be so interested in Panda dangers for so many years....

UPDATE 11/18: I checked and yes...people are still pretty obsessed with the dangerous side of the Panda....

All Settled

The friend I mentioned...She started her blog!
Check out Healthy Mahma's blog: Eclectic Blossoms of Green!

She just posted about a fun competition...and I am currently in the process of working on my submission post.

I'm excited! It's a great idea and a fun way to be healthy and to maintain a daily relationship with the Lord as well.

Plus there are prizes!! :)

Come on...you know you want to play....

The Name Game

So...my best friend is trying to make a new blog...
It's amazing how difficult it is to choose a name.

When she gets it all worked out, I'll be sure to link to it here, because I know it will be great :) :)

However, does anyone have any tips? How did you choose the names for your blogs??

This is almost as much pressure as naming pets and children...I would imagine... ;)
